Watercolor brings joy to life
Since I was 14 years old, watercolor paper has given me faith in life. Watercolor paper opened up a dream world of imagination, where I could unleash my adventurous imaginations. For many years I only exhibited watercolors on paper in large formats.
The watercolor paintings gave me trips to Europe
This led me to travel to Europe at a young age. I won several poster competitions. This gave me the opportunity to travel to England, Germany and Italy. I won an ECU medal at the age of 17 and from there life took me in a creative direction. At the age of 23, I was offered my first company decoration for Louise Poulsen. One of my decorations can still be seen in Lemvig Müller. I have also created an altarpiece for Skovvejskirken and have decorated a Metro fence under the Metro construction project, Byens Hegn.
Watercolor painting on paper brings calm and opens up creativity
"When I was 13 years old, I started painting watercolor paintings that I hung in horse stables where I rode and looked after horses. That was my first gallery. People in the stables started taking the paintings home and from there I started getting commissions for watercolor paintings. For many years people were always looking for the horse in the picture. It was later phased out. When I paint watercolor paintings, there is a flow of inspiration from my intuition that opens up to the creative gifts of the universe and from here an open flow starts that gives me the signal to create art. Since 2017 I have been teaching watercolor painting and now I have also started teaching acrylic painting. In addition, I also create sculptures in clay.
Teaching in Greenland
In 2024 I got the opportunity to teach in Greenland. In Ilulissat, I have been teaching at the Pedagogical College in 2024 on a special project on ethereal learning principles.
In the summer of 2025 I'm coming to South Greenland for a week to do a workshop either in Narsarsuaq, Narsaq or Igaliku, exactly where I don't know yet. I will only be there for a short week this time to see if there is interest in teaching. Please contact me if you are in Greenland at this time or are interested in booking me for long-term teaching on painting trips. I love traveling around Greenland's beautiful natural landscapes.

Artist at heart - Here at the Metro project in 2015
Mette has been working with creativity since she was 14 years old. She creates art exhibitions that show inspirations from nature and she uses her imagination to build up images while painting. Using her senses and feeling the wind and rain on her cheek is essential in feeling nature from the moment it is experienced until the expression comes out as art. The above artwork measured 27 x 4 meters and was about the encounter with imagination. A huge painting that was sponsored with paint from Flügger Farver.
Art exhibition in Hamburg 2024
In 2024 Mette exhibited in the Jupiter building in Hamburg. These are paintings on canvas with a special watercolor technique on canvas.
The paintings are inspired by Greenlandic nature experiences from the inland ice and from South Greenland. In addition, Mette has been in Ilulissat in Greenland to teach at Pædagogisk seminarium in 2024.
